Data Center and Servers
The network provides over 2,000 Gbps of connectivity between the data centers and 16 points of presence (PoPs) with dozens of 10Gbps network connections across locations that are provided by leading global network providers, and include multiple public peering links to dozens of additional Internet access networks.
The SoftLayer data center in Plano, Texas has 106,000 square feet of space and offers a world-class SAS 70 type II-audited collocation environment with unmatched network speed and bandwidth capacity, locate and remote Network Operations Centers, expert support services and high power density.
Using the latest modular cooling technology from Turbine Air Systems (TAS), the mixed-use data center features N+1 cooling and power architectures, with state-of-the-art, high-efficiency, water-cooled chillers. And the data center's gone green-its architectural design features and equipment galley outside of the data center floor, housing six large air-handing units and all chilled-water piping. Because all water is outside of the actual data center floor, the design puts the breaks on any possibility of an interior water leak. Twice the efficiency and half the amount of energy used than traditional data centers due to the modular water cooling system.
