How to customize your Profile using the New Facebook
Tips from your Website Hosting Provider
At the beginning of December, Facebook unveiled the new Facebook profile page that is creating quite a buzz in the social media world. Many people are asking how to get the new Facebook profile page, and more importantly, how to customize it.
1. Get the New Facebook Profile page.
The first thing you need to do is get the new Facebook profile enabled on your personal profile page. Point your web browser toward http://www.facebook.com/about/profile where you'll see an overview of the new layout.
2. Take advantage of the new Facebook layout by posting new images.
The new Facebook profile layout presents users with an exciting opportunity to customize their Facebook profile like never before. In some cases it can be achieved by the simple act of changing a single profile image. Many creative Facebook users are already taking advantage of this opportunity to customize their profile and show their creativity. One creative Facebook user, Dan Pellegrino came up with the first popular profile example of customization, but I expect that soon to come there will be many more Facebook profiles that are customized.
- Go to your profile.
- Click "photo".
- Click "upload a photo". Choose the photo from your hard drive and save.

3. Post links to your Facebook profile in the comments field.
After you have added new images to take advantage of the new Facebook profile and customized the look, you can post links to your profile in the comments field. You will need to "tag" yourself in the images that you uploaded in Step 2. Begin with the right-most image and move to the left. To tag a photo:
- Click "photos".
- Click the photo you want to tag.
- Click "tag this photo".
Advantages of New Facebook Profile
The new Facebook profile includes an updated introduction section, with the basics of where you're from, where you went to school and where you work. However once you enable the new Facebook on your personal profile, you will notice that it's photos that take center stage. By utilizing the "tag" feature, recently tagged photos of you and your friends are highlighted in your profile.
There's also a great deal more flexibility in exactly how you can share your interests and activities. Additionally, you can share your life philosophy by connecting to religions, political affiliations, and people you follow and admire. All of these interests are represented by images now, which you can rearrange to showcase the photos that are most important to you.
Facebook sped up browsing photos through a new "infinite scroll" feature and improved its people search, allowing for more search filters including name, hometown, school and more. It's clear that by tagging photos and manipulating their order, a person can easily customize their new Facebook profile. Have fun!
