To add products, click catalog and then click “add a new product”. From there you can enter the name of your product and a UPC code, the width, height of the product, retail price and wholesale price. By entering the initial stock numbers, you can easily keep track of inventory. Enter a short description of the product and a full description followed by tags which will increase your search engine presence in Google. Click save and your done entering your new product. If you wish to add images, click the “image” tab, browse to find the image on your local machine, include a caption and save.
1. Create product categories
Navigate to the catalog tab, then click on the category sub tab. On the right hand side of the screen click “add new icon”. Add a description of your category along with the category image that you want shoppers to see. Fill out the Meta tags fields to optimize your visibility on search engines and save.
2. Create a product
Navigate to the product tab and click product sub-category. Click the “add new” icon. Fill out all the information in the product details field such as product name, status, visibility and condition. Next fill out the description fields for your product. Once you have written both descriptions, click “save”. Now its time to input your product quantity and price by clicking on the sub-tabs found on the left hand side of the screen. Once you have entered their correct quantity and price data, you will need to click the “images” sub tab. Here you can upload your product image. Once you have completed this step, your new product will be ready for sale in your online store.
3. Configure your payment solution
Choose one that works well for both you and your customers. Allied Wallet is included for free with PrestaShop In order to take advantage of this solution, click on the modules tab, locate Allied Wallet and then click “install”. Once it is installed, you will need to sign up for an Allied Wallet you will be able to accept payments securely from customers all over the world.
PrestaShop ecommerce comes with the ability to accept many other payment modules. Click “modules” tab, scroll down to “payments and gateways” and choose PayPal or Authorize.net. If you do not yet have a PayPal account, you can setup a PayPal account for free. PayPal charges a 2.9% transaction fee on the total sale amount plus a $0.30 fee per transaction.

4. Configure shipping options
Navigate to the shipping tab found at the top of your back office, then click on the “carrier” sub tab. Click “add new” to add a new carrier. Now fill out the carrier name, select a logo, indicate delivery time and provide the tracking URL that your customers will automatically receive by e-mail. Choose a zone to which the carrier delivers and click save. Once you have added your preferred carrier of choice, you must configure price and weight ranges. Go to the “weight ranges” sub tab and click “add new”. Select the carrier, enter the information about the range then save. Navigate back to the shipping page and select your new carrier. Here, you will enter the prices in the tables that appear and they will automatically be applied to all purchases made at your online store.
5. Manage orders
From the orders tab, you can review all the orders placed in your online store. click on one of your orders to get specific details. Here you can consult and modify an order status. This will help you, for example, generate invoices. You can also see what carrier was chosen and as well as the delivery address. At the bottom of the page, you will see additional details about the order that will help you keep all your transactions organized and easy to reference.
6. Choose a template or theme
Go to addons.prestashop.com – choose from over one thousand themes to personalize the appearance of your commerce website. Once you have selected a theme, simply install it by following the instructions provided. You can then activate your new theme from your back-office by clicking on the “preferences” tab and then on the “theme” sub-tab. Once complete, your new PrestaShop store will be ready to accept orders.
